The latest addition to the LEGO Architecture family is here! – The new LEGO Architecture Villa Savoye Set No. 21014 with 325 LEGO brick pieces. Here are some photos of this new set I got from the LEGO Architecture website.
This LEGO Villa Savoye is the 4th set released by LEGO for 2012. So for 2012 LEGO has released the LEGO Sydney Opera House (270 Peices), the LEGO Big Ben Clock Tower (346 Peices), LEGO Sungnyemun Gate (660 Pieces) and now this LEGO Villa Savoye with 325 peices.
This LEGO Villa Brick Model is based on the famous modernist-style country house residence called the Villa Savoye, situated on the outskirts of Paris in France. This Villa Savoye was designed by a famous architect named Le Corbusier in the 1920s and is considered as the perfect embodiment of Le Corbusier’s ‘Five Points’ construction principles.
Below is a picture of this Villa Savoye. Take a minute and compare the LEGO Architecture Villa Savoye with this and see how it looks. Is it a good resemblance of the original?
You can see, just like in the real thing, this LEGO set features columns/pillars, open floor planning, long horizontal windows, functional roof space and a free façade.
Below is another view of how the new LEGO Architecture set looks. The roof top structural features made by LEGO bricks looks great. Does anyone know whether this set has got some nice, unique LEGO building block shapes designed and made specially for this set?
This next picture shows you how the LEGO Villa Savoye right from the top. Not much to see here, but will be extremely useful when you are putting together the set. I would have been very grateful for a top shot like this when I was struggling to build the big 3D puzzle Taj Mahal set.

Finally, the box and packaging for this LEGO Architecture set. As you can see in the box cover its recommended for ages 12 and upwards because LEGO bricks are small parts and present a chocking hazard for kids. However, together with adults I think its okay for even let smaller kids to build this brick model. I certainly played with LEGO bricks maybe as early as 4 or 5 years. I know how how compelling the urge is to buy something like this for your kids when you have got money but if you have a smaller kid an alternative to this would be to get them something like the Melissa & Doug wooden block set.
